The Future Generation Joint Venture brings together the combined engineering experience and expertise of WeBuild, Clough and Lane and has been selected to design construct Snowy 2.0. This project is based within the Snowy Mountains in NSW and will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world.
Snowy 2.0 is the next chapter in the Snowy Scheme's history. It is the largest committed renewable energy project in Australia and will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come. This Iconic Project has and will continue to create its own legacy in Australian history.
Purpose of the Role:
Leads all aspects of design, coordination, submission, compliance, programming and management of the temporary works maintaining and updating the TW procedure and manage a team of temporary works coordinators.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Science, Building Construction or equivalent White CardExperience:
Minimum 10 year of experience working in the construction industryRequired Competencies:
Project Engineer and operational experience A strong understanding of structural and/or geotechnical engineering Knowledge of project management structure, plans, specification, standards and implications for project accountabilities Experience working with Project Design Management Plans, Quality Management Plans, Safety Management Plans and Environmental Management Plans Experience in managing design activities to program and budget specifications Pre-contracts knowledge in relation to design, planning and legislative requirements Strong written, verbal and presentation skillsCore Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and manage interactions with local, state, and federal authorities for permits and approvals Collaborate with workforce representatives and unions to maintain positive industrial relations and resolve issues proactively Oversee the implementation of environmental protection measures related to Temporary Works, ensuring compliance with environmental standards and minimizing ecological impact Plan and control the delivery of Temporary Works Design to ensure the achievement of quality, completion and project objectives Coordinate and liaise with respective construction teams to develop Temporary Works Design solutions to facilitate the construction of the Permanent Works Actively participate in developing cost optimised and constructable Temporary Works Solutions Manage the design approval process by coordinating issue resolution Ensure compliance of Temporary Works with safety requirements Management of Temporary Works package register, drawings and package numbers, revision control Manage Temporary Works design consultants allocated to the project to ensure that their progress meets requirements Undertake quantitative and qualitative safety, environment and quality risk assessments to ensure the acceptable quality of structures and finishes Validation of temporary works conducted on site Document and record management Demonstrate sound people management skills by managing work and performance of subcontractors to achieve outcomes.
