Temporary Works Coordinator
Job Purpose:
Our client based in the Durham area is looking for a Temporary Works Coordinator. This is a years long contract outside of IR35. The Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) is responsible for managing all aspects of temporary works within the EPC project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and engineering standards. This role involves coordinating the design, implementation, and removal of temporary structures and systems that support construction activities.
Key Responsibilities: Management & Coordination: Oversee the planning, design, installation, inspection, and removal of temporary works. Compliance: Ensure all temporary works comply with relevant regulations, codes, and industry standards. Stakeholder Collaboration: Liaise with design teams, site engineers, contractors, and safety officers to integrate temporary works into the overall project plan. Risk Assessment: Conduct and document risk assessments for temporary works, mitigating potential safety hazards. Approval Processes: Review and approve temporary works designs, ensuring they are fit for purpose. Training & Awareness: Provide guidance and training to site personnel regarding temporary works protocols. Inspection & Audits: Perform regular checks and audits to ensure temporary works are correctly implemented and maintained. Records & Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all temporary works activities, including approvals and safety checks. Incident Management: Investigate any incidents related to temporary works and implement corrective actions. Qualifications & Experience: Education: Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Certifications: Valid Temporary Works Coordinator training (e.g., CITB or equivalent). Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering principles, temporary works design, and regulatory requirements. Additional Requirements: Ability to work on-site and travel between project locations as needed. Experience in large-scale EPC projects preferred. Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards within construction environments.
