What we want
The Temporary Research Associate will evaluate the role of microplastics (MP) /Nanoplastics (NP) in wettability alteration of the porous media by conducting a series of experiments. The responsibilities include performing coreflood tests on customized porous media and assessing wettability alteration through contact angle measurements. Image analysis using X-Ray micro computed tomography (CT) will be performed to visualize fluid flow patterns, air-liquid interfaces, and alteration in porous media properties such as porosity and permeability. In addition, this position will be responsible for data analysis, reporting, and presenting the results in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences.

Required Education and Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
+ Two years of related professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
+ Preferably to have education and experience relevant to the job description.
+ Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Job Responsbilities
+ Image Analysist: Image analysis using X-Ray micro- computed tomography (CT) for observing fluid flow patterns, air-liquid interfaces, and changes in porous media properties such as porosity and permeability in presence of microplastics (MP) /Nanoplastics (NP).
+ Experimentation: Performing Coreflood experiments to inject microplastics (MP) /Nanoplastics (NP) of varying size and hydrophobicity into a variety of porous media and assessing wettability alteration through contact angle measurements.
+ Data Analysis: Data analysis, interpretation and presentation of results in the form of reports, journal articles, and via presentations in international conferences.
+ Research Fabrication: Characterization and fabrication of microplastics (MP) /Nanoplastics (NP) and porous media
