CST on the closing date. A-State participates in E-Verify. Position Summary: Temporary full-time reading/writing instructor in the Transition Studies department. The ideal candidate will teach standalone developmental reading and writing courses, as well as integrated reading and writing courses for both domestic and international students. Duties & Responsibilities: Design and deliver engaging lessons to improve reading comprehension, critical thinking, and literacy skills. This role focuses on helping students, especially those who may need additional academic support, develop strategies for reading success in college level coursework. The faculty member hired for this role should expect a 15-hour workload per semester. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of English language structure, grammar and composition. Knowledge of current pedagogical methods in reading and English. Good oral and written communication skills. General Days/Hours: Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Additional hours as requested and/or needed Regular and reliable attendance Possibly some evenings Other: Please note: all position postings close at 12:00 A.M.
