Position purpose:
Reporting to the Senior Director of Career Education and Employer Initiatives, the Career Development Coordinator provides operational support for the Massey Career Development Center. The role supports student career development and employer relations efforts across the Massey College of Business. Serves as a point of contact and participates in the management of relationships with students, employers, alumni, and external partnerships.
This is a temporary position, the anticipated end date for the roll is Mid-September.
Essential Functions:
1. Employer Relations: Provide and distribute information to new and existing employers regarding the recruiting services and internship programs within the Massey College of Business. Maintain employer contacts and follow up with employers about recruiting options and timelines. Manage fulfillment of all recruitment requests ensuring opportunities are properly promoted. Market job and internship opportunities to students and alumni. 25%
2. Student Career Development: Advise and educate undergraduate business students and young alumni on internship and job search including matching career objectives to opportunities. Provide career coaching services including assistance with resume, cover letter and interviewing preparation. Train students to use online career management systems and online resources. Administer, interpret and/or discuss the results of career assessments with students individually or in groups in order to assist in self-understanding and decision-making regarding majors/careers. 25%
3. Career Management Systems: Maintain various software platforms including Handshake, Alumnifire, Canvas, Suitable and Quinncia. Assist students, graduates, and employers with accessing and utilizing the systems. Track student internship agreements and forms. Generate reports. Work with grad assistants/student workers to enter recruiting data and ensure accuracy. 15%
4. Events/ Campus Recruiting: Coordinate College of Business recruiting and employer engagement events. Oversee event planning and logistics for all employer visits and recruiting activities including employer coffee chats and discipline specific events. Support event planning and logistics for the following large-scale Jack C. Massey COB events: Accounting Meet the Firms, Business and Technology Career Expo. 15%
5. Data and List Management: Track student internship agreements and forms. Collect and report data related to student, alumni and employer engagement. Maintain target employer and candidate lists for communications related to job postings and events. Maintain Alumni Career Network. Track employer and alumni contact data to share with the College Business Strategic Partnerships team. 10%
6. Customer Service/Operations: Manage inbound inquiries for Massey Career Development. Assist and direct students, graduates, and employers to the appropriate services, resources, and staff. Provide administrative support and facilitate the day-to-day operations of the Massey Career Development Center in the areas of scheduling, communications, purchasing (BPS), room reservations, and graduate assistant/student worker coordination. 10%
