**Job Summary:**
The Engineering Data Acquisition and Analytics section is part of Caterpillar’s Integrated Components and Solutions Division. The section supports product engineering teams throughout Caterpillar through the remote collection and analysis of engineering data from Caterpillar products. The section includes both the SuperComm2 Command Center team - our Internet of Things (IOT) data acquisition team - and the Engineering Intelligence team - our custom analytics team.
We are looking for a Telematics Data Collection Technician to process and monitor engineering data collection activities on Caterpillar products.
**What the candidate will do:**
+ Remotely configuring and troubleshooting data collection units on company and customer equipment
+ Monitoring data collection activities to reduce missing or inaccurate data
+ Continuously improving the process of engineering data collection
+ Communicating with engineers who submit the data requests to solve problems and minimize data errors
**Education requirement:**
Any engineering degree or close to graduating this semester (June 2025).
Advanced English-speaking level.

+ Ability to learn and follow a technical process for data requests
+ Accurately document data collection issues and questions
+ Identify any non-conforming data
**Effective Communications**
+ Proactively communicate with data requesters
+ Document status of data requests
+ Provide clear comments when reviewing on-going data requests
**Troubleshooting Technical Problems**
+ Identifying bad or missing data
+ Systematically determining root cause of data issues
+ Correctly resolving data issues
**Top Candidates will also have:**
+ Experience with data collection or analysis
+ Experience with Caterpillar engines or machines
+ Excellent computer skills
+ Demonstrated a high level of organizational skills
**Additional information**
+ This position will be located in Santa María.
+ The work schedule is set for Monday-Friday 7am-4pm.
+ Domestic relocation is not available.
+ Traveling International/Domestic at 10%. (VISA required)
