We are seeking a TELECOMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST. This position will work remotely. The Telecommunications Specialist effectively operates and routes traffic on various communications systems for multiple facilities in the Upper Peninsula at the same time.

 Duties include:

Provides quick response and accurate information for callers. Retains large amounts of information and knows where and how to access this information quickly.Maintains confidentiality and a professional, courteous attitude.Handles stressful conditions; evaluates and solves problems objectively, without supervision.Collects disaster information and reports to the appropriate person/facility.Receives and reports all emergencies in a calm, clear and accurate manner.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of switchboard and communication practices normally acquired through demonstrated ability to read, write, remember and follow verbal or written instructions. A high school diploma and previous switchboard or information systems experience beneficial.Possesses an excellent working knowledge of computer operations and typing skills.Demonstrates the ability to work effectively with all types of individuals with various educational and cultural backgrounds including patients, staff and the general public.Functions well under pressure and able to establish priorities.Excellent written and oral communication skills with a high degree of professionalism.Ability to work a variety of shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays.

Hours: This position is Full Time; 0.8 FTE or 64 hours per pay period. Shifts are varied. ROTATING HOLIDAYS AND WKNDS.

Aspirus Ironwood Hospital includes a 25-bed critical access hospital, multi-specialty clinic, satellite clinic in Wisconsin, surgical clinic, walk-in clinic and a home health agency. Ironwood's service area covers approximately 30,000 people. The hospital has a 4 bed ICU, 3 bed OB unit, and 4 surgical units. The emergency department is staffed 24/7 with ER physicians, with approximately 12,000 visits annually. The hospital's inpatient census is 10 patients per day. The outpatient clinic has over 50,000 visits annually.
