Technology Sales Specialist (SME) - Database

We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Data Platform Database Subject Matter Expert (SME) to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in various database technologies, including Watsonx.data, DB2, Informix, Netezza. Additionally, the product set includes Filenet, Capture, and CMOD. This role involves providing technical leadership, strategic direction, and expert insights to ensure the optimal performance and utilization of our data platforms. **Your role and responsibilities** * Sales Leadership: Key driver of the business for the defined product set and ensure prospecting and progression of all deals in territory * Maintain Client Relationships and Showcase IBM's Tech Value: Actively maintain and nurture client relationships while effectively highlighting the value of IBM's technology solutions. * Coaching Brand Sales Specialists: Create and deliver content sessions and workshops to enhance the team's knowledge and performance in database technologies. * Utilize Solution-Selling Skills: Apply solution-selling techniques to engage with decision-makers, assess and qualify opportunities, and establish enduring partnerships. * Oversee the Full Sales Process: Lead the Brand Sales Specialist to take charge of the entire sales process, from handling RFI/RFP responses to meeting key performance indicators (KPIs). The focus is on acquiring new business and expanding existing accounts. * Technical Leadership: Provide expert guidance and strategic direction for the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of database technologies * Documentation and Review: Develop, review, and approve proposal documentation to ensure accuracy and relevance. * Collaboration: Work closely with various teams to address customer needs and issues, ensuring the delivery of high-quality solutions. * Ecosystem: Work in cooperation with IBM's sales ecosystem to develop and execute sales campaigns, ultimately leading to the growth of the sales pipeline. **Required technical and professional expertise** * Experience: Proven experience in AI, Machine Learning, Data Governance and running a successful territory or business at IBM. * Skills: * In-depth knowledge of database architecture, design, and implementation. * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communication and presentation skills. * Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. * Proficiency in project management and documentation. **Preferred technical and professional experience** * Location: Must reside in the Southeast region. * Coverage: Responsible for covering the National market.
