Are you ready to lead and innovate in the field of Shutdown Services?

 

We are seeking an experienced Technology Manager – Shutdown Services to join our Services Grinding, Bulk, Pyro (SVS GBP) team. In this role, you will be at the forefront of managing and enhancing our Specialty Services for Shutdowns, supporting sales and business development.

 

You will report directly to the Director of Shutdown Services and play a crucial role in our operations.

 

While we prefer this position to be based in Canada to support the business line there, we are open to other locations within the North Central America (NCA) Region. We offer flexible working arrangements, including hybrid options, but please note that this role involves up to 40% travel to customer sites or other Metso offices for training and collaboration.

 

What You’ll Do:

 

Manage Shutdown Specialty Services: Oversee equipment purchases, rentals, maintenance, improvements, spare parts inventory, job boxes, tools, etc., to support project deliveries. Global Maintenance Standards: Ensure adherence to global maintenance standards and provide technical support for Metso equipment to the Specialty Services teams. Continuous Improvement: Administer lessons learned, identify continuous improvement opportunities, and provide feedback to relevant stakeholders. Team Coaching and Training: Coach and train the Specialty Services teams, ensuring adherence to equipment guidelines. Budget Management: Manage equipment recovery standard costing models and maintenance budgets. Innovative Equipment Development: Develop innovative and proprietary equipment to enhance shutdown services and add customer value. Equipment Patents and Quality Control: Manage equipment patents, trademarks, accreditation, quality control, and manufacturing licensees. Sales Support: Support sales by evaluating customer needs and providing technical and cost input into sales cases/proposals. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with stakeholders such as Capex teams and Technical Support in the business development and promotion of Metso Shutdown Services. Health and Safety: Foster a strong Health and Safety Culture within the team. Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.

 

Who You Are:

 

Educational Background: Engineering degree preferred and/or related industry experience in brownfield work environment. Leadership Skills: Strong team leadership skills are essential. Technical Skills: Civil machinery operation skill is an asset. Mechanical and/or electrical and instrumentation knowledge is also an asset. Project Management: Ability to take a brownfield project from the initial proposal phase through execution with minimal supervision and in a timely manner. Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational and communication skills combined with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Training Ability: Skills to develop a team of experts, brownfield project execution strategies, and processes. Interpersonal Skills: Talent for working effectively with fellow employees, customers, and subcontractors. Decision-Making: Capability to make quick, accurate decisions relative to problem-solving and risk. Technical Proficiency: Ability to read and interpret imperial and metric engineering and architectural drawings. Language Skills: Fluent in English; other language skills are a bonus. Networking Ability: Ability to network and interact with a wide range of people from different backgrounds. Customer Service: Strong customer service skills, including relationship building, negotiation, and understanding customer needs. Task Management: Ability to organize and prioritize tasks while working in a fast-paced environment. Decision Rights Owns: Metso P&M Services execution Global P&M Service capability Vetoes: Unsafe work procedures Execution of work in case of a safety risk
