Selectively initiate collaborative efforts for those + Provide relevant insights for internal Product Line Plans and Business Technology Strategy + Recommend initiation of new technical programs **Day-to-Day Responsibilities:** + Engage with EO/IR system experts through direct interactions in technical conferences and customer visits + Author technical papers and promote Corning Advanced Optics - Aerospace & Defense capabilities in technical conferences/journals + Support commercial group with key account engagements, product line strategy & roadmaps + Monitor EO/IR and optical remote sensing system design patent publications **Required Education and Experience:** + PhD or master's degree in Optical Engineering, Optical Physics, or related discipline + 10 years of experience in EO/IR system design + Ability to establish trust and cooperation with Defense Prime Contractors + Strong technical acumen + Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts + Executive presence and presentation skills + Ability to obtain security clearance + Up to 30% travel required **Desired Experience:** + Direct experience at defense prime contractors **This position does not support immigration sponsorship.** The range for this position is $141,789.00 - $194,960.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
