Technology Manager

Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent experience; or an equivalent combination of related training and experience and industry-relevant certifications.

Experience: A minimum of five (5) years within various disciplines in the IT function as a government contractor with at least one (1) year working with NIST 800-171 and/or Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC).

Security Clearance: Eligible for a Top Secret Clearance.


Summary

The Technology Manager leads the strategic development and tactical implementation of technological activities. This includes coordinating, planning, and leading technology-related activities in the organization, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and alignment with the company’s strategic goals, and recognizing technological trends early and developing and/or applying new technologies for service and product innovations. 

 

The primary technology-related responsibilities of this position are: 

Mitigate risks and ensure compliance with government cybersecurity protocols, focusing on data protection, integrity, and access control.Collaborate with stakeholders to analyze business requirements and define IT infrastructure strategy and architecture.Develop and implement corporate IT policies covering information and cybersecurity requirements, software standards, and general IT support.Investigate and report any IT policy violations or incidents.Lead IT projects, including design, development, and deployment of new systems and services.Develop and maintain a business continuity and disaster recovery plan, including routine systems back-up, testing, and training.Deploy and maintain network security measures to protect data, software, and hardware in line with federal regulations.Monitor IT system performance, assess cost and productivity levels, and recommend infrastructure improvements.Develop and implement a standard operating environment (SoE) for software needs aligned with standardized equipment.Conduct hardware and software audits to ensure compliance with federal and company standards, policies, and configuration guidelines.Partner with end users to enhance their experience and provide routine operation system reports to senior leadership.Assess vendors and develop test strategies for new hardware and software.Oversee day-to-day operational maintenance, support, and upgrades for operating systems, workstations, and servers.Ensure timely installation and upgrades in accordance with IT policies and procedures, and maintain compliance with log and repair records.Manage the technology department budget and educate employees on protecting company proprietary information.

 

Knowledge, Skill and Abilities:

Required Skills:

Ability to align tactical operations with company strategy with and collaborate effectively across multiple organizations.Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to persuasively influence others.Expertise in designing and developing technology solutions to meet stakeholder needs and enhance performance.Proactive in identifying and mitigating risks to corporate IT posture.Knowledge of customer service principles, including needs assessment, quality standards, and customer satisfaction evaluation.Skilled in network security and VPN management, as well as network monitoring software.Proficient in using office suite, operating system software, and enterprise system management tools.Familiarity with NIST 800-171 and/or Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) process, as developed by the Department of Defense.Skilled in rapid technology/solutions development and deployment.

Additional Skills:

Knowledge of industry-standard development practices such as SDLC, Scrum, and agile methodologies.Understanding of business and management principles, including strategic planning, resource allocation, and coordination.Proficient in applying software engineering science and technology principles to solve practical problems.Familiarity with the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) mission and critical technology protection (CTP).Understanding of NISP and regulations related to facility and personnel clearances.Familiarity with IP multimedia subsystem software.Experience with web page creation and editing software, document management software, and email software.

The projected salary range for this position is $75,000-$120,000 and is based on experience and contractual requirements. However, this is not a guarantee of salary.
