**Position Description**
**Research Technologist I / In vivo experiments**
**Here's What You'll Get To Do**
· Gives technical assistance to fellows, students and researchers or works on one main project or several smaller projects designed by the investigator.
· Main responsibilities will involve live animal work including mouse and zebrafish.
· Performs intracranial injections of cancer cells and/or viral particles. Prepares injection material.
· Performs intraperitoneal and subcutaneous injections of cells and or drugs/small molecules. Surgically inserts small drug delivery pumps into mouse brains.
· Monitors postoperative recovery and follows tumor development using internal SOPs. Performs brain imaging using BLI or MRI.
· Harvests mouse brains containing tumors and prepares tissue for immunohistochemistry or other types of analysis.
· Helps with managing mouse transgenic colony including tail clipping, PCR based genotyping and planning breeding schemes.
· Generates and manages SOPs, AUPs and other documentation required for the in vivo experiments.
· Communicates and maintains records of experimental data.
**Here's What You'll Need**
+ Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience
+ Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communications
+ Qualified applicant needs to have experience and skills necessary to work with live animals
+ Surgical skills or ability to learn these is required
+ A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity and inclusion objectives
