Job Description

SanDisk is known for its flash memory storage solutions, including: 

Memory cards: Used in cameras, smartphones, and other devices. USB flash drives: Portable storage devices for transferring and storing files. Solid-state drives (SSDs): Faster, more reliable storage solutions for computers. Embedded flash products: Integrated into devices like mobile phones, tablets, and gaming systems. 

We're looking for a Technologist, SSD Firmware Engineer to build robust, low-level firmware for our next-gen High Bandwidth Flash Product. You'll focus on critical infrastructure components, including power management, secure initialization, and inter-processor communication (IPC). This role involves deep collaboration with hardware teams to develop firmware for early boot stages, integrate System IPs, and enable efficient production flows, ensuring reliable and high-performance SSD operation.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Electrical Engineering, or related field.Experience: 7+ years in embedded systems firmware development, specifically in power management, initialization, and IPC.SSD Expertise: Experience with low-level SSD firmware, NAND flash, FTL, and interfaces (SATA, NVMe, PCIe).Boot Firmware: Proven experience developing early boot firmware (ROM/OTP code, bootloaders) and secure boot concepts.HAL Experience: Experience designing or maintaining Hardware Abstraction Layers (HALs).Skills:Expert in C/C++ and assembly programming for embedded systems.Proficient with RTOS and bare-metal development.Skilled with debugging tools (JTAG, GDB, oscilloscopes).Knowledge of hardware interfaces (SATA, NVMe, PCIe) and flash management (wear leveling, garbage collection).Understanding of SoC architecture and System IP integration.Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills in hardware-software integration
