**Job Description**
We are looking for an experienced **Project Engineering Manager** to take a leading role in one of Europe’s most ambitious renewable energy infrastructure programs. You will be responsible for the offshore scope of a large-scale 2GW HVDC project in Germany – part of a portfolio of multi-year EPC projects valued at over $1B.
Working with GE Vernova – Grid Systems Integration (GSI) and in close partnership with TenneT, one of Europe’s leading transmission system operators, **you will oversee all offshore design activities for new HVDC converter stations bringing clean offshore wind energy** into Germany and the Netherlands. Your work will directly contribute to Europe’s renewable energy targets and the delivery of critical infrastructure powering millions of homes and businesses.
This role requires strong technical expertise, precise coordination, and confident leadership of multidisciplinary teams to ensure designs meet demanding schedules, budgets, and quality standards while managing technical interfaces with partners, contractors, and stakeholders.
**Key Responsibilities**
+ Issue and consolidate the project drawing list (or related work packages) and integrate it into the design schedule.
+ Manage the overall engineering schedule; align engineering with procurement, construction, and commissioning; organize follow‑up.
+ Plan and manage delivery timelines for technical interfaces; implement exchange interface sheets with partners, customers, and third‑party contractors.
+ Ensure on‑time delivery of design to stakeholders at the required quality, including partner documentation.
+ For large and complex projects, support the Project Engineering Director and Project I&I Manager in engineering change management.
+ Lead and coordinate design teams, supported by Primary, Secondary, and Civil Designers.
+ Monitor the engineering budget, identify potential savings, and manage any need for additional budget; manage scope/design changes and prepare related claims.
+ Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews per GE procedures and project strategy.
+ Check design effectiveness against contractual requirements and budget; pursue cost optimization across all phases, especially during basic design.
+ Deploy engineering tools relevant to your work package (CAD, PDM/DMS) as per strategy.
+ Integrate EHS requirements based on project strategy; conduct HAZID sessions at different project phases.
+ Implement key indicators on the engineering process and support project reporting.
**Your Profile**
+ Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field.
+ **Fluent in German and English** ; capable of leading weekly technical meetings in German and working effectively with German-speaking stakeholders.
+ **5+ years of industry experience** , including hands-on work with **HVDC station equipment and design** .
+ Proven experience in customer-facing project technical management within international, multi-disciplinary teams involving multiple interfaces.
+ Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multidisciplinary stakeholders effectively.
+ Solid knowledge of power transmission and distribution systems.
+ Experience with engineering KPIs and performance monitoring.
+ Decisive and results-oriented engineer who confidently manages multiple complex priorities, takes ownership of critical decisions, and knows how to balance competing tasks to keep projects on track.
