Location: West Hospital
Schedule: Full-Time | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
The General Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing both scheduled and unscheduled preventive maintenance, responding to general maintenance calls, and troubleshooting and repairing secondary utility systems. These include building systems, plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and air systems. The technician also maintains and inspects specialized machinery and equipment in compliance with regulatory and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:Perform preventive maintenance and respond to dispatched maintenance requests
Troubleshoot and repair systems including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and air systems
Maintain and inspect specialized machinery and equipment
Recommend improvements or corrections to facility systems to support patient care
Coordinate maintenance activities with other departments
Conduct routine building and grounds inspections
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:Required:
High School Diploma or GED
Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
General knowledge of electrical systems, plumbing, fire safety devices, and air systems
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams
Proficiency with hand and power tools
Basic computer skills
Preferred:
Valid Indiana driver’s license with proof of insurance (may be required)
Knowledge of healthcare-related building codes
