This role is part of Alcon's Engineering function, a team focused on improving quality, processes, products, packaging and materials across our business to help deliver brilliant outcomes.
The Technician III, Facilities Engineering Technical Support (Science/Tech/Engineering Path), is primarily responsible for managing complex tasks in the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and facilities. You will plan, budget, schedule modifications, coordinate space allocation, and manage contracts, requiring advanced technical skills and decision-making. Specifics include:
• Handle highly complex technical tasks related to the design, planning, construction, and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings, and other facilities, supporting operations and contributing to efficiency within defined procedures
• Plan, budget, and schedule facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor, materials, and other related costs
• Oversee the coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services, and facilities expansion, while ensuring adherence to health and safety standards
• Manage contracts and contractors, engage with insurance providers to develop and execute risk reduction projects such as fire prevention, and contribute to facility master planning
• Perform complex tasks of a highly technical nature that require specialized training or education, applying scientific and engineering principles to solve problems and innovate
• Stay current with advances in the field to take an agile approach to problem-solving by testing, iterating, and refining solutions
• Adhere to GxP regulations by strictly following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate and complete documentation, ensuring rigorous quality control, and completing all required training
• Commit to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance, meeting individual job requirements and contributing to the overall compliance of the organization

Essential Requirements:
Chargeman Certificate (A4), minimum AO with experience
Experienced in Manufacturing environment
Able to work on rotating shifts, weekends and Public Holidays
