The Technician II performs the standard tasks in the production process, within the assigned Value Stream and process step. This can include the synthesis, purification, quantification, QC sampling, formulation, quality assurance and/or final processing of products.
This position reports to an assigned Supervisor and is part of the Standard Desalt; Tubes No Form department located in Coralville, IA and all work is performed on-site.
Shift: Sunday, Monday, Thursday and Friday, 9:00AM - 7:30PM.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Synthesize oligos on various synthesizer platforms, cleave and deprotect oligos, quantify and sample oligos for quality control tests. Attach modifications utilizing various techniques.
Use custom software packages to complete tasks and create final product. Assess QC data accurately and makes pass/fail decisions for oligos. Keep thorough records of specialized processes in the oligo process history.
Prepare oligos for final shipment to customer or for further processing in other departments. Perform decontamination programs on liquid handling instruments.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Associate degree in a science related field or at least 18 months of lab experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Proficiency with computer skills and the ability to accurately use job aids in the safety minded production of oligonucleotides.
It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:
Bachelor's degree and life sciences experience, preferred.
Life sciences experience, preferred.
Ability to perform and transition through a variety of tasks with concurrent deadlines daily with urgency and efficiency while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.

This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.
