Technician Diver- Ports & Maritime - Engineer Dive Group
As a Ports & Maritime Technician Diver, you’ll be part of the engineer dive group and have the chance to work with our global team on asset evaluation projects worldwide. You’ll be a vital member of our team conducting above and underwater structural assessments, including visual and tactile inspection, non-destructive and partially destructive testing, and marine rehabilitation. You’ll also learn and develop skills in UAS (Unmanned Aireal Systems, or Drones), ROV (Underwater remotely operated vehicle), SONAR, and LIDAR operation. As soon as you start this position, you’ll be engaged in Jacobs’ engineer dive teams utilizing surface-supplied diving and commercial SCUBA equipment to conduct underwater inspections of waterfront structures across the globe. New hires will be vetted and trained through a multi-year process for promotion to the diving supervisor role. Work Expectations: •Work alongside experienced engineers to perform a variety of structural assessments above and underwater •Operate and maintain commercial diving equipment, small engines, boats, and fleet vehicles •Review and develop dive safety plans •Work alongside experienced engineers to perform a variety of structural assessments above and underwater •Support teams local to New York City and across six continents, traveling between 10 and 25 percent of the year •Professional experience as a commercial diver •ADCI Entry-Level Air Diver certification or higher •Excellent writing and communication skills (samples of writing to be provided by applicants) •OSHA 10hr Construction or General Industry Certification •Ability to manage multiple tasks and small projects independently •Working knowledge of commercial diving equipment, small engine operation and repair, and safe operation of boats •Valid driver's license and must be US Citizens •Valid diving physical or ability to pass an ADCI-compliant diving physical •Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite of programs (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc…) Preferred Qualifications •DCBC (Diver Certification Board of Canada) Dive Supervisor or Diver certification •Experience with NDT methods, including ultrasonic testing •Experience with Partially destructive testing, including underwater coring •Underwater or overwater construction experience •Structural inspection experience •OUPV or 100 Ton Captain License •FAA Part 107 Remote Pilots License •Experience operating ROVs or SONAR •OSHA 30hr Construction or General Industry Certification •HAZWOPER Jacobs is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
