From lighting rigs to life-size wax figures, your role combines technical know-how with creative problem-solving to ensure every aspect of our immersive experience runs without a hitch. 🎡🎧🔧 Whether you're fixing a projector, setting up AV for an event, or resetting props before doors open — you’re essential to the show! **🧰** **Key Responsibilities** **🔌 Technical Maintenance & Repair** + Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain a variety of systems: HVAC, electrical, AV, plumbing, lighting, and show control. + Perform both preventative and reactive maintenance across the attraction to ensure smooth daily operations. + Set up and repair network cabling and computer hardware. + Replace projector bulbs, install lighting fixtures, and assemble furniture or exhibits. **🎥 Stagehand & AV Operations** + Assist in video, sound, and lighting setup for live events or special programming. + Set up and test microphones, DMX-controlled lighting, speakers, and video equipment. + Operate and assist with lighting and sound during special performances or press events. + Build, disassemble, and move temporary sets, props, and display elements. + Assist with re-lamping, painting, exhibit takedowns/setups, and general gallery resets. **🚧 Facilities & Guest-Ready Standards** + Ensure all technical spaces and public areas meet cleanliness, safety, and presentation standards. + Perform custodial tasks related to maintenance or emergency situations. + Maintain tools, equipment, and supplies in good working order. **⚠️ Safety & Compliance** + Follow all OSHA and Merlin Entertainments safety procedures. + Use PPE properly and ensure equipment is handled with care. + Work safely at height (20+ ft) and with power tools or loud equipment as needed. **🎓** **Qualifications & Experience** + ✅ High School Diploma or GED required + ⚙️ 2+ years’ experience in maintenance, stagehand work, AV tech, or a themed entertainment environment + 💡 Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, AV, and computer systems + 🎭 Experience in live event production, museum settings, or theatrical environments is a strong plus + 🤝 Team player with great communication skills + ⏱️ Organized, able to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment + 💪 Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods **💼 Licenses & Certifications** Must be able to obtain any licenses or certifications required by law or Merlin policy (e.g., lift certification, safety training). **🧑‍🔧 Working Conditions** + 📅 Flexible availability, including weekends, holidays, evenings, and occasional overnight work + 🌡️ Exposure to varying temperatures, lighting conditions, noise, and heights + 🧍 Requires bending, standing, crawling, and lifting throughout the shift **🔐 Health & Safety** Safety is everyone’s job!
