Job Description
This role involves performing a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical areas. The technician will construct, troubleshoot, calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose, and maintain equipment components, devices, or systems. Working from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions, the technician will operate related equipment, conduct tests, and report data in a prescribed format. The position requires performing calibration and alignment checks, making adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed, and preparing prescribed compounds and solutions. Note that this role does not include technicians working in production or quality assurance. The primary focus is on mechanics for HIMARS M270 and Military Vehicles, with no prior experience required.
ResponsibilitiesConstruct and troubleshoot electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical equipment.Calibrate, adjust, test, diagnose, and maintain equipment components and systems.Work from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions.Operate related equipment and conduct tests, reporting data in the prescribed format.Perform calibration and alignment checks, making necessary adjustments, modifications, and replacements.Prepare prescribed compounds and solutions as needed.Focus on mechanics for HIMARS M270 and Military Vehicles.Essential SkillsFamiliarity with gasoline and diesel engines.Proficiency in troubleshooting vehicle issues.Understanding of engine mechanics and diesel engines.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience as a diesel mechanic working on bulldozers and/or large diesel engines is desired.Preferred experience working on gasoline and/or diesel engines.Work Environment
This position is located on site at the New Mexico location, specifically at the White Sands Missile Range near the Las Cruces Gate visitor center. The facility provides a dynamic environment where technicians will work with various technologies and equipment. The role requires adherence to specified safety protocols and procedures.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $29.62 - $29.62/hr.
