The Role
As a Shift Technician, your core responsibility is to perform operations duties supporting the delivery and handling of high-purity chemicals and gases used in semiconductor manufacturing. This is a critical on-site, customer-facing role within the facility, ensuring the safe, compliant, and efficient execution of all chemical-related operations across the site.
Duties:
Chemical Systems Operations
• Perform chemical container and canister changes
• Conduct ISO tanker container change-outs (for designated chemicals)
• Execute safe chemical disposal in accordance with RCRA standards
• Carry out chemical sampling and PCD (Point of Connection Device) changes
Operational Excellence
• Adhere to all engineering, safety, and operational standards
• Wear appropriate PPE, including SCBA when required
• Maintain the company's reputation through professional conduct and appearance
• Operate across the site in a high-integrity, customer-centric manner
Safety & Compliance
• Actively participate in company and customer safety programs and initiatives
• Ensure all work complies with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) protocols
• Support emergency situations if needed (non-Emergency Response Team role)
Teamwork & Flexibility
• Collaborate with team members to improve process efficiency and reliability
• Provide support to adjacent operational areas as directed by management
• Cover colleague shifts due to illness or holidays as needed
Technology Used
• Chemical Delivery Systems (training provided)
• Hand tools, meters, gauges, and test instruments
• Microsoft Excel, Word, and customer database systems
Who You Are
• 5+ years’ experience in chemical, semiconductor, or high-tech facilities operations
• Experience in chemical handling in semiconductor environments (preferred)
• Hazardous material handling training (desirable)
• Technical or mechanical trade qualification (desirable but not required)
• Ability to understand and communicate effectively in the language used for safety, training, and operational documentation.
• Comfortable working in PPE, including breathing apparatus
• Professional demeanour with strong communication and teamwork skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to safety and compliance
Working Hours:
• Rotating Shift Pattern:
o Week 1: 3 Days ON / 4 Days OFF
o Week 2: 4 Days ON / 3 Days OFF
• Shift Times: 7am–7pm and 7pm–7am
• Overtime: Required as needed to maintain team operations and coverage
