Job Description

Do you enjoy traveling? Looking for your next career opportunity as a commercial electrician and reside in the State of Florida? This may be for you. The purpose of this job is to repair, inspect, troubleshoot, and clean signs and exterior lighting at company locations. You need to have experience and be willing to work independently. 

Receive daily work assignments and drive a bucket truck to Pilot Flying J locations to inspect signage and lighting.Identify potential and existing problems with electrical signage and lighting, provide analysis and investigation of issues, and determine the best solution for needed repairsReplace electrical equipment, including but not limited to ballasts, lamps, sockets, switches, fixtures, and involving voltages from 120 to 480 voltsComplete required documentation for all repairs and installs using a smartphone, iPad, and/or laptop computerProvide excellent customer service to team members onsite, interact in a professional, respectful manner, and collaborate to meet project deadlinesEnsure that the jobsite is maintained to the highest standards of safety; prepare the worksite, eliminate all possible hazards, and clean up the site dailyMaintain ongoing communication with management on project status and provide daily reports on work completedWork within OSHA guidelines and actively participate in and complete regular safety training, and follow all safety procedures at all timesMaintain own equipment, inventory, and company vehicles, including daily truck safety checksModel behaviors that support the company’s common purpose; ensure guests and team members are supported at the highest levelEnsure all activities are in compliance with rules, regulations, policies, and proceduresComplete other duties as assignedQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent certificate requiredMinimum five years’ commercial electrical experience required; seven years’ experience preferredElectrical journeyman license preferredDOT medical care requiredMinimum three years’ bucket/aerial lift and electrical experience at heights 60 to 120 feet required; five years’ experience preferredBucket truck class and certification required post-hireMinimum age of 21 years with clean DOT recordBasic Microsoft Office skills requiredIntermediate knowledge of commercial lamps, ballasts and LED fixturesUnderstanding of National Electrical CodeIntermediate knowledge of low voltage environmentsGood written and verbal communication skillsExcellent analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skillsAbility to prioritize, execute tasks and meet deadlinesAbility to take initiative and work independentlyAbility to provide excellent customer service and work as part of a teamExcellent attention to detail and accuracyAdditional InformationTravel required up to 90-100% Monday-Friday.
