We’re looking for a Technician, Building Services to join our team in Stellarton, NS on a 6-month contract. If you're passionate about maintaining safe, efficient, and well-functioning workspaces and thrive in a hands-on, service-oriented role, this could be the opportunity for you.
Here’s where you’ll be focusing:
+ Deliver excellent customer service to meet internal needs
+ Liaise with inter-office departments to coordinate work requirements
+ Oversee general repairs and maintenance of office buildings and equipment (chairs, workstations, lighting, etc.)
+ Monitor and document HVAC maintenance across all building systems
+ Evaluate new procedures to reduce costs and improve HVAC efficiency
+ Respond to requests for heating/cooling adjustments, snow removal, salting, file storage, and more
+ Contact and collaborate with contractors and suppliers as needed
+ Ensure contractors meet safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness standards
+ Assist staff with facility-related maintenance issues
+ Conduct general repairs and oversee on-site contractor work
+ Support budget and cost control efforts
+ Maintain and coordinate maintenance procedures and equipment repairs
+ Participate in a 24-hour call-out rotation schedule
+ Adhere to and implement all company safety standards
+ Maintain a clean and safe working environment
What you have to offer:
+ Undergraduate degree or DEC with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
+ Trades training or hands-on experience in building maintenance (electrical, mechanical, carpentry, blueprint reading)
+ Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
+ Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
+ Familiarity with HVAC systems, safety standards, and general building operations
