Technical Writer III

This person will provide Technical Writing Support for Health Projects. We are looking for creative, collaborative, experienced, and driven individuals to join our team! We actively strive to channel our highly engaged employees’ knowledge, critical thinking, and determination to innovate scalable solutions for our clients. **Responsibilities** + Write and edit CDC content, including materials for infection control guideline and recommendation efforts, training resources, web content, policy statements, and reports based on the NCEZID communications format. + Collaborate with communications, policy, and scientific staff to create educational materials, talking points, promotional materials, social media content, blog content, policy statements, reports, public presentations, prepared public responses (i.e. CDC-Info) and other online content; ensure that all materials are based in science and are audience-appropriate. + Collaborate with CDC’s Communication Services to create graphics, video, and images to convey information. + Ensure that all communications materials follow best practices for health education, risk communication, and plain language by following the CDC communications policies and format. + Update and coordinate all web content and resources for CDC’s website; ensure scientific consistency of all messages and materials on a weekly basis though the CDC communications policies and format. + Assist CDC scientific staff in responding to requests for information, presentations, and other events by creating messaging, slide sets, prepared responses, and handouts. + Contribute to web, collateral, messaging, graphics, timeline, planning, project management. This includes developing content and working with Creative Services + Participate in meetings as representative of the DHQP communications team and provides meeting updates/summary to relevant team members. + Proactively identifies, researches, and resolves problems or issues; participates in team strategy session to discuss solutions. Proactively recommends updated strategies to improve analysis tactics and outreach efforts. + Format and send Adobe Campaign (or other email subscription platform) messages, format and post Safe Healthcare blog entries, moderate (review/approve/triage and/or respond to) blog comments, and/or use the WCMS to update or edit DHQP Intranet content. + Use SharePoint for workflow/task management. + Follow Section 508 guidelines when preparing electronic documents that will be posted online or distributed via email. + Use HHS Checklists to help ensure compliance with the guidelines. + Other duties as assigned **Qualifications** + Four (4) to seven (7) years of relevant, direct comparable or similar work experience. + Completed Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience to substitute. + Computer skills to include but not limited to, skills in operating Microsoft Office software, with emphasis on Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook as well as SharePoint. + Skills in managing and prioritizing multiple assignments with strict deadlines and ability to coordinate efforts among many offices. + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written). + Expertise to prepare and present information/data via oral briefing(s) and/or by written reports Chenega Corporation and family of companies is an EOE.
