Technical Writer
CTG is seeking to fill a Technical Writer opening for our client in Phoenix, AZ. Location: Phoenix, AZ Duration: Ongoing contract Duties: Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs), developers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather and validate technical information. Create, update, and maintain clear, concise, and accurate documentation to support both technical and business users. Develop a wide range of deliverables including user manuals, installation guides, FAQs, API documentation, developer guides, technical reports, procedural documents, training materials, and release notes. Organize and structure complex technical content into logical, easy-to-understand formats tailored for the target audience. Incorporate visuals such as diagrams, flowcharts, screenshots, and videos to enhance clarity and engagement. Review and edit documentation to ensure technical accuracy, readability, consistency, and compliance with style guides. Manage document publication, versioning, and updates using content management systems (CMS) or other publishing tools. Regularly update documentation to reflect product enhancements or new features. Gather and analyze user feedback to continuously improve documentation quality and usability. Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues, SMEs, and diverse stakeholders. Strong technical writing ability—clear, concise, and adaptable to various audiences. Ability to quickly learn and simplify complex technical concepts. Strong research skills for gathering and validating technical information. Meticulous attention to detail for ensuring accuracy, consistency, and completeness. Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects. Proficiency with content management systems (CMS), publishing tools, and visual content creation tools. Experience: Relevant professional experience as a Technical Writer, preferably within financial services and/or technology sectors. Demonstrated track record of producing technical documentation for software, APIs, systems, or business processes. Experience collaborating with technology teams, developers, and SMEs in fast-paced environments. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.
