Job Title: Technical Writer
Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer to develop detailed installation documents and specifications for custom assemblies. You will interact with the engineering team to ensure that installation documents are complete and sufficient, manage your time efficiently to meet shipping deadlines, and audit custom projects to ensure all installations and referenced installation documents are included in the BOMs. You will also be responsible for updating and maintaining the 'Design Guideline' and supporting pre-installation meetings by ensuring all necessary documentation is available.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop detailed installation documents and specifications for custom assemblies.Interact with the engineering team to ensure install documents are complete and sufficient.Manage time and effort to ensure all documents are available for shipping deadlines.Audit custom projects to ensure all installations and referenced installation documents are included in the BOMs.Update and maintain the 'Design Guideline' – the repository of DFMA and engineering standards for the Custom Engineering group.Update installs affected by ECOs, old rekeys, or design changes.Maintain the latest revisions of all installs in the EPDM system, ERP, and Released Install folders.Support pre-installation meetings by ensuring all documentation is available.Support requests for Shop Drawings/Approval Drawing by developing formats.Create and maintain a library of typical installation details.Maintain and communicate the list of generic installation and maintenance documents.Essential SkillsExcellent English language skills, including spelling, punctuation, grammar, and usage.Ability to read, write, and interpret a wide variety of technical documents and document types.Proficiency with CAD software tools and design layouts.Ability to visualize 3D objects and translate them into 2D documentation.Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.Detail-oriented, accurate, organized, and efficient.Strong communication skills and a continuous improvement mindset.Additional Skills & QualificationsAssociates or Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing or a similar field.2+ years of experience with Solid Works (Composer) and Adobe Illustrator.Skills in SolidWorks, Adobe Illustrator, technical writing, imaging, engineering, and document control.Work Environment

This position offers the ability to work in a hybrid environment post-training. You will report under the custom engineering team. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Delano, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $37.00/hr.
