Job Description
As a Technical Writer, you will be responsible for creating, revising, and updating Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs) for avionics products. Your role ensures that the content is technically accurate, clear, and easy to understand for maintenance technicians. This position involves collaborating with various stakeholders to gather and analyze technical information, and organizing it in a logical and sequential manner.
ResponsibilitiesCreate, revise, and update Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs) for avionics products, ensuring technical accuracy and clarity.Collaborate with internal counterparts to gather technical information from manufacturing test engineers, design engineers, production experts, and maintenance personnel.Analyze existing documentation such as technical drawings, engineering specifications, test reports, and parts lists to extract relevant data.Participate in meetings and interviews with subject matter experts to understand assembly, disassembly, inspection, repair, and testing procedures.Organize technical information logically and sequentially, complying with industry standards (e.g., ATA 100 or ATA iSpec 2200).Establish the structure of the CMM, including chapters, sections, and subsections for easy navigation.Ensure consistent and uniform terminology throughout the document.Proofread and edit the CMM to eliminate typos, grammatical errors, or technical inaccuracies.Collaborate with internal counterparts and other stakeholders for final validation and approval of the document.Manage time effectively to deliver documents within required deadlines, coordinating with the project schedule.Essential SkillsTechnical writing expertise.Proficiency in document control and technical documentation.Experience with work instructions.Proficiency in Microsoft Office.DEC or higher in engineering.5+ years in a similar role.Knowledge of iSpec2200 or S1000D.Fluency in English.Additional Skills & QualificationsProficiency in French.Military or transport experience.Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.Work Environment
This role offers a hybrid work environment, requiring 2-3 days onsite. The company provides a supportive culture focused on continuous professional and personal growth.
