Technical Writer / Content SME
Location: 250 Yonge Street Employment Type: Full-time [Hybrid / Remote]Department: Ontario Public Sector Bid Team
Overview: We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to produce high-quality documentation that enhances the success of our clients and internal teams. This role will require close collaboration with IT delivery professionals and proposal/bid teams to support project execution, RFP responses and product documentation. The ideal candidate would need experience in both technical writing and business analysis and can translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and compelling content for proposals.
Responsibilities
• Work with internal teams to obtain an in-depth understanding of the product and the documentation requirements.
• Produce high-quality documentation that meets applicable standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
• Write easy-to-understand user interface text, online help and developer guides.
• Create tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications.
• Analyze existing and potential content, focusing on reuse and single-sourcing opportunities.
• Create and maintain the information architecture.
• Collaborate with delivery teams and visualize the content for RFP responses.
• Support in PPT preparation for shortlisted proposals during demos.
Requirements and skills
• 2+ years of proven working experience in technical writing, content writing or as a business/technical analyst.
• Ability to deliver high quality documentation paying attention to detail.
• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and pictures.
• Excellent written skills in English.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of the Ontario Public Sector (OPS) market is a plus.
• Willingness to learn and incorporate marketing techniques into content writing.
• Willingness to deep-dive into market research of Public Sector and help with inputs.
• Basic familiarity with the SDLC and software development
Preferred Background
• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Communications, Business Analysis or equivalent field.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including delivery, sales, and pre-sales.
