Technical Workshop Manager (Mechanical) - Kliprivier
MECS
7-10 years’ experience in a similar role within heavy-duty transport, crane rental, or construction plant environments.
Trade-tested Diesel Mechanic or equivalent technical qualification (preferred).
Strong working knowledge of hydraulics, rigging, lifting equipment, and trailer systems.
Excellent planning, workshop scheduling, and team leadership skills.
Firm grasp of safety, compliance, and quality standards in transport.
High energy, problem-solving mindset and ability to lead under pressure.
Proficient in MS Excel and digital workshop/job card systems.
Valid driver's licence and own transport (essential).
Physically fit, hands-on, and willing to work extended hours when needed.
Attend to emergency break downs after hours as and when required.
Daily management of workshop operations, planning, and resource allocation.
Budgeting, controlling workshop expenses, break down/emergency expenses.
Full administrative function of managing the mechanical workshop and Tembo Fleet.
Ensure preventative maintenance, breakdown repair, and roadworthiness compliance across all fleet categories.
Manage job cards, part usage, service records, and reporting systems.
Ensure workshop SHEQ compliance and enforce safety protocols.
Supervise and support technical teams to deliver high-quality, efficient service.
Maintain critical spare parts inventory and liaise with suppliers.
Support remote breakdowns, on-site maintenance, and cross-site workshop coordination.
Co-ordinate team of Mechanics to attend to services and break downs and repairs on scheduled maintenance
and unplanned maintenance.
Coordinate inspections, licensing, and audits (internal and external)
Contribute to monthly fleet reports and improvement strategies.
Salary – R 60 000 – R70 000 Benefits to be negotiated (medical aid 50% and provident fund 7.6% of basic)
