This position is responsible for training quality control (QC) responsibilities related to PEX production, packaging and distribution. Key activities include training, qualifying and certifying employees on QC processes and procedures. The Technical Training Specialist is also responsible for designing, preparing, and organizing training sessions and content, completing and maintaining all training records and forms, writing and/or consulting on applicable procedures and training-related materials and assessments, completing assessments, and analyzing and identifying training gaps and opportunities. The Technical Training Specialist is responsible for providing training on all quality, measurement and testing requirements, equipment, tools, procedures and techniques. Technical Training Specialists communicate directly with managers, supervisors, leads, engineering and other subject matter experts (SMEs) as needed to facilitate the development and execution of training.
This position is onsite located in Apple Valley, MN but will require periodic travel to our distribution center in Lakeville, MN and our manufacturing facility in Hutchinson, MN.
May require 50% or more time on night shifts.
Shift: Varies depending on training needs.
Conduct new employee on-boarding; train, assess, qualify, certify and re-certify employees on all QC requirements in production, packaging and the lab. Crosstrain and retraining existing employees on new processes, procedures and equipment.
Develop, or participate in the development of, all training-related materials, job aids, assessments for all production, packaging, and distribution areas requiring quality control. This may include reviewing, advising on, writing and updating procedures.
Maintain all training-related records, data and documentation, accurately completes forms, and identifies and analyzes training gaps and opportunities.
Seek out opportunities to contribute to the business success through involvement in team and continuous improvement activities, organizational initiatives, audits and safety program efforts.
Education, Experience and KnowledgeRequires a High School Diploma or equivalent.
Quality Control experience in a manufacturing environment required.
Minimum 2 to 5 years of manufacturing experience or demonstrated mastery of one or more of Uponor’s production, quality or distribution areas.
Minimum 1 to 2 years teaching or on-the-job training experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Continued learning in manufacturing, quality, distribution and leadership principles.
Basic computer skills required (MS Office).
Experience and training in Lean concepts, ISO Quality Systems, Continuous Improvement, 6-Sigma and a Bronze Certification, minimum.
Must have, or be able to acquire, Forklift Certification and Forklift Train the Trainer Certification.

The specific compensation offered to a candidate may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s relevant knowledge, training, skills, work location, and/or experience. Please note that this range represents the full base hourly rate for the role and hiring at or near the top of the range is uncommon to ensure room for future pay advancement.
