BASF Coatings UK Limited supplies Automotive OEM and component manufacturers with all four layers of coatings – e-coats, primers, basecoats and clearcoats. We have a significant presence of service staff across the UK’s car and automotive components manufacturing plants. Our Automotive Refinish coatings are approved by some of the world's leading manufacturers for use in their authorised bodyshops. We focus on ecoefficient waterborne and high-solids coatings with low solvent content. We supply Glasurit and R-M refinish paints and provide customer training on these products.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT

Join BASF and lead innovation at the forefront of coatings technology. In this pivotal role, you will manage BASF’s operations at a prestigious manufacturing site, acting as the primary technical and customer interface. You’ll drive performance, lead a dedicated team, and champion the introduction of new technologies—all while ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency remain at the core of everything we do.

 

Lead BASF operations at a major manufacturing site in the South East, acting as the technical authority for internal topics and customer-related product issues.Manage and develop the on-site team, ensuring safe, efficient day-to-day operations and driving continuous improvement across key KPIs (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Morale & Environment).Serve as the primary customer interface, building strong relationships while representing BASF’s best interests.Oversee stock planning and coordination, ensuring timely product availability to meet production schedules while maintaining optimal inventory levels.Drive innovation and new product introductions, including technologies and colours, with clear documentation of trials and commissioning activities.Monitor product consumption and performance, maintaining accurate reports and implementing corrective actions to meet BASF and customer requirements.WHAT YOU OFFER Education: 5 GCSEs (grade 4 or above) or equivalent, and/or Level 3 NVQ preferably in Manufacturing/Production.Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of paint and paint application (theory and practical).Leadership: Proven ability to lead, motivate, and drive team performance.Technical Proficiency: Experience with measurement software (PELT, BYK Mac, Wavescan) and confident in using Microsoft/IT systems.Communication: Excellent collaboration skills with internal and customer teams.Health & Safety: Committed to BASF Health & Safety policies and customer site rules, promoting “Safety First” principles.
