Technical Support Specialist
CTG is seeking to fill a Technical Support Specialist opening for our client in New York. Location: Remote Duration: 15 months Description: This role specializes in performing problem determination and problem source identification in software environments. The Technical Support Specialist should have a solid understanding of the design, architecture, and operating environments of assigned system components. They will provide technical assistance to internal and external clients with information, tools, and fixes to resolve and prevent software problem reports. Responsibilities include: Performing problem analysis using troubleshooting techniques, evaluation, recreation, and resolution of client-reported problems. Utilizing relevant problem management systems to search for known problems and to create or update problem entries. Providing advice and guidance to clients regarding the use of software, technical resources, and tools. Responding to client requirements in a timely manner. Supporting software environments including middleware, operating systems, programming languages, database management systems, development tools, and application packages. Duties: Diagnose and resolve technical issues in software and application environments. Apply troubleshooting techniques to identify and resolve complex problems. Collaborate with development and engineering teams to implement security patterns and best practices. Provide expertise in SDLC processes and DevOps implementation. Deliver client-focused technical guidance and ensure timely resolution of incidents. Document issues, solutions, and recommendations within problem management systems. Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills. Ability to implement application security patterns. Solid knowledge of SDLC processes. Experience with DevOps practices and tools. Strong client service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote environment. Experience: Previous experience as a Technical Support Specialist, Software Engineer, Developer, or similar role. Hands-on experience with problem determination, debugging, and resolution in software environments. Background supporting middleware, operating systems, programming languages, or database management systems. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained.
