Technical Support Specialist
As a Technical Support Specialist at Kitware, you will play a vital role on the Systems Administration team, working closely with teammates in maintaining critical infrastructure used by Kitware's research and development engineers and support staff across a diverse range of projects. In This Position You Will: Provide support for end-user hardware and software including Windows, Linux, and macOSInstall, configure, and update software in accordance with policies and security requirementsManage user accounts including account creation, modification, and deactivationHandle support requests submitted via the helpdesk systemMaintain hardware inventory, including ordering of equipmentAct as liaison to outside vendors such as Dell and Apple, and coordinate/assist with service callsAdvise on future hardware and software needsOther related support duties as necessaryRequired Qualifications: Due to contractual requirements, U.S. citizenship is required, along with the willingness and ability to obtain, use, and maintain a security clearanceBachelor's or associate's degree in an IT-related field, with 2 to 3 years of relevant experience, or equivalent amount of education and experienceExperience with MS Windows and LinuxExperience with wired and wireless networksStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsStrong written and oral communication skillsThe ability to lift 25-50 pounds$65,000 - $85,000 a yearCompany Description:Kitware is a research and development software solutions provider with a mission to advance science, make a positive impact, and share our results all within a collaborative, employee-focused work environment that is friendly, fair, and flexible.
