Technical Support Engineer I
We’re looking for a Technical Support Engineer I to join our Belfast team, focused on supporting our InsightAppSec product. In this role, you’ll troubleshoot complex application security issues, guide customers through technical challenges, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver outstanding support experiences. About the Team
Our ever-growing Technical Support team are seeking candidates who have a passion for providing exceptional customer experiences through solving complex technical problems. The focus of this position will be on becoming a subject matter expert on, but not limited to InsightAppSec - our cloud-based application security testing solution designed to help organizations identify, prioritize, and manage vulnerabilities in their web applications.

Serve as a product subject matter expert and provide hands-on technical troubleshooting and resolution
Use internal tools and logs to analyze customer issues and uncover root causes
Collaborate closely with Engineering and Product teams to communicate findings and accelerate resolution
Continuously build expertise in web application security and the evolving Rapid7 product landscape
The skills and qualities you’ll bring include:
Clearly convey technical concepts to various audiences, both verbally and in writing
Use critical thinking to break down complex problems and drive to resolution
Understand customer needs and deliver support that exceeds expectations
Thrive in a fast-changing environment, embracing new tools and processes quickly
Strong understanding of web technologies – including HTTP, HTML, DOM
Familiarity with Javascript and related frameworks (e.g., Express.js or Flask)
Experience with APIs (REST, GraphQL, SOAP) and webhook integrations
Proficiency in analyzing logs using tools like regex
Understanding of SQL or NoSQL databases
Familiarity with OWASP Top 10 and web security principles
Experience with tools such as HTTP proxy, repeater, or manual testing frameworks
Basic understanding of TLS and secure communication protocols
