DUTIES: Work with all aspects of the company’s propulsion system. Provide oversight to engine and nacelle partners to integrate their efforts with the propulsion team, including scheduling, project oversight, and technical requirements. Work on engineering projects containing critical problems, the solution of which requires major technological advances and extensive related development. Function at a senior level by being responsible for an entire engineering project of major complexity within established scope. Make technical decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative and have an important impact on extensive engineering activities. Apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts based on broad expertise or unique specialized knowledge. Lead the development of innovative principles and ideas. Act independently to determine improved methods and/or procedures to optimize technical product, cost, and schedule requirements. Work under consultative direction. Use independent judgment to accomplish objectives. Develop standards and guides for diverse engineering activities. Conceive and plan investigation of broad areas of importance for which engineering precedents are lacking in areas critical to the program. Support the Safety Management System (SMS) by conducting work in the safest manner possible in accordance with approved technical data and company policies, as well as in a manner that enhances own/other employees’ health and safety, enhances product safety, and promotes risk reduction. Participate openly in safety-related event investigations. Immediately report workplace hazards and make suggestions for control. Cooperate and contribute toward the overall success of the SMS program at the local level. Perform other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering field required.  Thirteen years of experience in job offered or in a related engineering position required, including any experience with: the certification of engine and Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) system features; the aircraft development lifecycle and certification process; 14 CFR Part 25 certification; developing compliance and qualification strategies; defining means of compliance for certification requirements in support of certification plan approvals; authoring and peer reviewing certification reports; serving as a technical reviewer on certification reports; analyzing flight test data and performing design reviews using CATIA V5 to establish compliance with certification requirements; serving as a liaison with engine and APU suppliers; managing problem reports; developing aviation products from initial definition through flight test certification and in service phases of clean sheet and derivative aircraft projects; working in Propulsion System projects, including in Integrated Powerplant Systems, APUs, Fire Protections, and Fuel Systems; Part 23 and Part 25 compliance requirements and certification activities; driving project integration and managing systems interfaces with multidisciplinary teams including suppliers; leading teams to accomplish design engineering work scope; and with supplier technical management. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering field and thirteen years of experience, Employer will accept a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering field and eleven years of the above-requested experience or a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering field and nine years of the above-requested experience.

Education and Experience Requirements Bachelor's Degree in engineering or related curriculum applicable to the respective job position required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 13 yrs specific technical discipline or 15 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines with Bachelors. Experience credit considered for related adv degrees limited to 2 yrs for Masters and 4 yrs for PhD in fields applicable to this job.
