Technical Specialist
Minimum Requirements International Motors, LLC is seeking a Technical Specialist in Lisle, IL with the following requirements: Master’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and 8 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies and/or computer science experience including 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies OR Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and 12 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies and/or computer science experience including 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies OR PhD in Engineering, Engineering Technology or Computer Science and 5 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies or specialized technologies and/or computer science experience including 2 years of experience leading new technologies or specialized technologies. Required Skills: Evaluate Class-8 hybrid electric trucks test data in Aptiv to analyze failure modes, mean time between failure, and vehicle life data analysis to determine reliability using Minitab during new product development; Perform Design Failure Mode Effect Analysis on vehicle systems and develop validation plan and acceptance criterion to test vehicle in field and test facilities to evaluate design robustness against customer requirements; Analyze test results to assess risk to meet requirement, lead failure investigation using 8D, 7-Step problem solving techniques, confirm root cause using 5 Why and recommend corrective actions for product optimization to improve reliability and quality; Research market requirement, apply product architecture knowledge for new product development lifecycle and partner with cross functional teams to define and drive continuous improvement actions to meet technical product specification until successful product launch in market; Maintain product quality and reliability using statistical analysis methods like Weibull analysis, Paynter chart, DOE from Design for Six Sigma Green Belt certification in design, manufacturing, and sourcing diesel engine fuel system components over the product lifecycle. 8% domestic, 2% international travel required; up to 40% remote work allowed; Must live within normal commuting distance of Lisle, IL; co headquarters in Lisle, IL.
