Responsibilities

Responsible for display module development as a design release engineer focused on display technology, materials, finish, optical performance, and electrical requirements Responsible for defining and creating display module technical specifications and requirements Support and collaborate with the studio team to optimize and display finish, black mask, cover glass and general appearance for the display module Integrate world-class display optics and electronics seamlessly with LUCID vehicles’ electrical architecture, UI/UX graphics, and Infotainment requirements Be directly responsible for end-to-end success of the product’s optics and electronics from concept though production Work closely with the display assembly engineer on display module integration mechanical attributes such as head impact, and stiffness and strength Having strong understanding on supplier’s assembly line, process, costs, and quality control Hold holistic ownership on the display module cost, quality and engineering efficiency Define product requirements and specifications and develop test plans, procedures, and criteria to ensure product robustness and quality Perform measurements, experiments, and support various studies for display Release designs and requirements to suppliers and kick off tooling, checking fixtures, assembly fixtures, end of line testers to meet project milestones Manage suppliers and interface with engineering services to develop designs that achieve high-quality customer satisfaction that aligns with Lucid’s design DNA Support mass production ramp-up, resolve display optical/electrical and all related field issues, drive cost-down efforts for display module Understanding program timing and milestones and ensuring project meets requirements for Vehicle Program Timing Establish robust display manufacturing processes and assembly lines, using experience and technical knowledge Lead and grow LUCID’s display portfolio for current and future vehicle programs

Requirements

8+ years of experience in design and development of electromechanical products with mechanical and electrical interfaces having high quality cosmetic requirements for a premium in-cabin user experience. Responsibility design engineer in Tier 1, Tier 2, or OEM display module experience. Experience in product launch, and lifecycle, preferably an OLED or LCD display. Experience in defining display electrical and optical characteristics, conducting focus group assessments and dictating user experience conversations with cross-functional teams in an automotive environment. Familiar with integrating mechanical, electrical, and software aspects of product into vehicle architecture with good understanding of first principles of engineering in the areas of optics, mechanics, electronics, and material selection. Technical expertise in Display Technologies (Edge-Lit LCD, Local Dimming LCD, OLED), TFT Backplanes (LTPS or Oxide); Ability to define display specifications, such as display resolution (PPI), LED pitch, Luminance, Color Uniformity, Gamut, and Chromaticity. Technical knowledge on Display electrical and communication system components; Device Transmittals, SerDes (FPD-LINK), Timing Controllers, LEDs and LED Drivers, SPI or I2C, Touch Control Working knowledge of display component selection and integration, connector selection, wiring harness, power requirements, PCB components and layouts Experience in defining performance requirements such as resolution, accuracy, noise, durability, etc. and preparing validation plans. Working knowledge of Display Panel fabrication, Display assembly line, SMT and PCB fabrication in mass production environment. Education B.S. in Mechanical, Optomechanical or Electrical Engineering. Masters preferred. Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
