**Scope of Job:**
Responsible for ensuring the overall maintenance and safety of Peppa Pig Park, including the fabric of the building and building facilities, displays shows, rides, cinema, equipment, machinery, alarms, landscaping, etc.
**Qualifications & Experience**
**Key Objectives:**
+ **To ensure park facilities, displays shows, rides, cinema, equipment, machinery, alarms, etc., are in safe, full working order and to the highest standard at all times.**
+ Ensure all statutory equipment periodic inspections are arranged and all ‘in-house’ inspection regimes are implemented or developed and subsequently implemented if found necessary. Ensure all follow up recommendations are carried out with immediate effect and that all relevant paperwork and signs offs are completed.
+ Ensure all show related equipment and effects are in full working order at all times and are covered by a consistent preventative maintenance program of works.
+ Project management of new display/rides areas.
+ Act as career and development coach for team members, to help individuals build careers within the business and be the best that they can be in their roles.
+ Act as a role model and ambassador through own behaviour when it comes to guest service excellence and focus and commitment to guest obsession.
+ Undertake Duty Management shifts on a roster basis ensuring an amazing visitor journey/experience.
+ Ensure all areas within the attraction have associated Codes of Safe Working Practices (COSWPs) and training procedures in place, that these are regularly reviewed and updated as appropriate to ensure robust safe operational procedures are in place.
**RIDE & EQUIPMENT SAFETY**
+ Responsible for all rides within the Park – including repairs and tests of allelectromechanical equipment of rides, animation, attractions, and buildings. Performs other maintenance functions within theme park and assists other maintenance personnel as needed vital by maintenance supervision. Troubleshooting of sophisticated American and foreign made equipment. General Electrical, and PLC experience including VFD’s preferred.
+ Management of inspection and testing of passenger devices on weekly, monthly, and yearly basis as required in statutory guidance and PPM schedules; Ensure all staff work safely and without undue risk.
+ Ensure that adequate periodic safety checks are undertaken for fire, health & safety, and emergency lighting etc, and that any hazards or defects are either rectified immediately (if within the competence of the in-house team) or reported to a senior manager as soon as they become apparent.
+ Ensures the timely completion of all documentation required to remain in compliance and oversees the implementation of major ride modifications as required throughout the resort.
+ Responsible for maintaining mechanical, electrical and control systems so that safety is ensured for both members of the public and staff, so that minimal down time is achieved.
+ Responsible for co-ordination of capex related projects, seasonal features and upgrades to the visitor experience, and liaison with all relevant parties including external contractors.
+ Tight control of an annual maintenance budget, including repairs, equipment, ride shutdown maintenance, cleaning, environmental services etc. Keep to a tightly scheduled preventative maintenance program so that costs can be predicted rather than occurring ad-hoc.
+ Be aware of all cost issues and keep tight control of external contractor payments, sourcing alternative suppliers to ensure value for money service and work.
**FACILITIES & BUILDING MAINTENANCE**
+ Responsible for buildings, utilities, engineering, and trades. Responsibility extends to the safety of guests and employees. Manages, coordinates, and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of engineering projects within the entire Peppa Pig Park.
+ Close and effective liaison with the site team advising on Planned Preventative Maintenance Programs.
+ Responsible for the keeping of detailed written records relating to statutory and in-house periodic inspections, the repair of defects, and any modifications or any new installation work.
+ Support the operations team in the training of staff in all areas of rides, ride and staff safety, cinemas and all other display areas.
+ Responsible for monitoring security systems, informing the relevant contractor of any problems. Responsible for ensuring sufficient locks, keys, etc., dealing with any problems which might occur regarding the physical security of the displays and building.
+ Oversees the maintenance of the landscape and irrigation systems to ensure ongoing maintenance of the grounds and project needs are met. Ensures that gardens are maintained within the established standard for the park. This includes the look of the landscaped areas, tree trimming, irrigation and pest control throughout the park.
+ Production of regular reports for group Health and Safety as required.
**AV & ELECTRICAL**
+ Responsible for ensuring lighting is sufficient for all of the park and that all bulbs are in good working order and replaced, re-gelled, etc., immediately. Daily checks of all lighting to ensure a high standard of visitor satisfaction.
+ Responsible for ensuring that all audio-visual shows are regularly serviced, that all supplies of necessary consumables and backup parts are kept in stock, and that any repairs are undertaken promptly to minimize any affect to visitor enjoyment.
+ Responsible for management of periodic electrical inspections and testing on a yearly basis ensuring records are kept.

**MANAGING RESOURCES**
+ Oversees the application of, and compliance to, all local, state, federal and corporate codes, regulations, and corporate policies.
+ Responsible for arranging that adequate technicians are on site during all opening times to maintain the ride, cinema and all attractions in a safe and functional condition.
+ Management, development and training of the technical team. Responsible for all admin related duties such as rotations, holiday cover etc.
+ Ensure full and proper ride training for the technical team, ride operators and duty managers, etc., and that relevant paperwork and records are kept ensuring safe compliance with the law.
+ Responsible for assessment, supply and maintenance of all safety equipment and protective devices for the maintenance team.
+ Ensure the team has the necessary skills and experience to deputise in Manager’s absence.
+ Responsibility for management of contractors in respect of contractor’s safety
+ Attend weekly meetings with full Management Team
**HEALTH & SAFETY**
+ Responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within areas of responsibility, in line with the Group Policy (HS001).
+ Support the H & S Manager in delivering the resort's strategic plan. Ensuring the park operates an effective safety management system integrated into all working practices across the organization and is compliant with all H&S related legislation.
+ Where incidents do occur, ensure that they are investigated appropriately and that where necessary, corrective action is taken to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.
+ In conjunction with your direct reports, you are to ensure that safe working procedure is supported by appropriate risk assessment and that these assessments are maintained, audited and reviewed as appropriate for all work tasks.
+ To ensure that the Technical Services function provides a safe working environment for its employees in line with departmental and Group procedures and Policy.
+ To ensure that any potential health and safety hazards are dealt with as quickly as possible, reported as necessary and RCA carried out to eliminate further incidents where practicable.
+ To ensure that contractors working on site are being managed with full compliance with the park Permit to Work systems.
+ Contractor management to include contractor safety performance and selection.
Managers/supervisors are responsible for all aspects of Health, Safety & Security within their team, in line the Group Policy (HS001) andHS(P)002: Merlin Health & Safety Manual. In particular, they must ensure that risk assessments have been carried out, that safe working procedures are in place for all work activities and that all employees in their teams are aware of the Group Health, Safety and Security Policy and their obligations under it. They must ensure that safe working practices are monitored, and that risk assessments and procedures are reviewed regularly. Where incidents do occur, they must ensure that they are investigated appropriately and that where necessary, corrective action is taken to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.

**About You**
+ You have extensive experience as a Technical Manager and are well versed in both Technical and Health and Safety aspects.
+ Ideally, you come from a similar role in a related industry, tourist attraction or theme park.
+ You must love to work as part of a team.
+ You must be passionate about Health and Safety and ensuring that our guests have the most amazing experience but always with safety as the number one priority.
+ **Knowledge and of maintenance of Rides is preferred.**
+ Health and Safety -applicable H&S related certifications would be an advantage
+ Knowledge of facilities maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, and related trades required. Knowledge of budgeting and scheduling is required.
+ Demonstrated experience in successfully managing large and complex construction projects with strong on-site supervision. This requires the ability to read and interpret construction documents and schedules.
+ Experience in evaluating work against plans, specifications, safety and quality standards, and can facilitate resolution of complex problems in the field.
+ Minimum of five years leadership experience with direct reports.
+ Experience in the theme park or related industry preferred.
+ Preferable any experience in applying CMMS/EAM systems to manage maintenance processes.
+ Extensive knowledge in preventive and reactive maintenance systems.
+ Effective decision-making: ability to walk into a situation, inspect and check work performed by others, and determine whether the attraction is safe to reopen, keeping safety in mind as the top priority.
+ Able to remain calm under pressure and direct emergency situations in a rational manner.
+ Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
**Education**
+ A bachelor’s degree (or equivalent education and experience) in engineering, maintenance management or a closely related field is required. Candidate must demonstrate in depth experience and knowledge of maintenance methods in an equivalent industry.
