Reporting to the Technical Service Manager, the Technical Service Engineer is responsible for conducting service, repair and/or installation of products at customer site, including electrical and mechanical testing, in accordance with maintenance contracts. The Technical Service Engineer also diagnoses system failures and determines most cost-effective solution. Escalates complex issues to greater level of technical support or quality reporting system. May develop new customer service/product agreements. Responds to customer support calls within an assigned territory.
This position is part of the Technical Service Department located in CDMX, Mexico and will be in the field, covering all Mexico (80% traveling, mostly in CDMX area – 20% in the office).
In this role, a typical day will look like:
Repair customer equipment within the committed timeframe, meeting the highest quality standards established by the company.
Accurately diagnose technical issues and provide effective, timely, and sustainable solutions.
Strictly adhere to established work procedures, promoting operational discipline and process standardization.
Document all services performed through clear and complete technical reports, and submit them in a timely manner.
Actively participate in continuous improvement initiatives, both technical and administrative, that support the development of the department.
Interact professionally with both internal and external customers to effectively resolve any issues related to equipment repair.
Provide technical training to new team members or staff from other departments, based on operational needs.
Train customers on the proper use, handling, and best practices for operating their equipment.
Comply with work schedules in a punctual and responsible manner.
Foster a respectful, collaborative, and professional work environment at all times.
Properly manage spare parts, tools, and other assigned resources.
Provide remote support when required.
Coordinate with other departments (sales, logistics, technical support, administration) to ensure comprehensive follow-up on service cases.
Maintain productivity levels in alignment with departmental targets.
Support the preparation of service quotations as needed.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Candidates must have a degree in Biomedical, Electronic, or Mechanical Engineering, or in a closely related discipline.
Willing to travel up to 80% of the time
Candidates must be licensed to drive and possess a valid driver’s license.
At least 1 year of experience as a Field Engineer in the medical, industrial, laboratory, or water quality industries.
Proficiency in reading and understanding electronic schematics and diagrams.
Proficient in English: 80% reading, 60% speaking, 80% writing.
Valid passport required; visa preferred but not mandatory.
