Technical Sales Manager – NAM Digital Solutions
Weatherford in Houston, TX is seeking a results-driven and technically proficient Technical Sales Manager to lead the technical sales and business development of our digital product portfolio within the Oil & Gas sector. This role combines deep industry knowledge with strong technical understanding of digital technologies—such as data platforms, analytics, automation, IoT/IIoT, cloud, and edge solutions—to deliver value-based solutions to our clients. You and your team will be responsible for driving revenue growth through direct client engagement, solution positioning, conducting product demos and proposal development across upstream, midstream, or downstream operations. **Key Responsibilities:** • Closely align with the Sales Team who would be responsible for lead generation and then work with the Technical Sales Team to progress leads. • Conduct product demonstrations and technical presentations to help progress leads through contract closure for digital software, hardware products and technology services. • Understand customer challenges in production, asset integrity, operations, and optimization—and position the company’s digital solutions to address these needs. • Build and maintain strong customer relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and technical stakeholders. • Develop tailored proposals, presentations, and demos in collaboration with technical and product management teams. • Collaborate with product management, engineering, and marketing to relay market feedback and influence roadmap priorities. • Ability to use CRM tools (i.e Salesforce.com) for sales reporting. • Represent the company at trade shows, industry conferences, and client events. **Qualifications:** • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Petroleum Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred). • 7+ years of sales experience in oil and gas, with at least 3 years in digital technologies or industrial software. • Deep knowledge of the Oil & Gas value chain and operational workflows (e.g., production, SCADA, analytics, asset performance). • Strong understanding of digital tools such as cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), data management systems, predictive analytics, and industrial automation. • Proven success in technical sales, solution selling, and value-based selling approaches. • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills. • Domestic travel up to 30%. **Preferred Skills:** • Experience with digital twins, edge computing, or AI/ML applications in oil and gas. • Familiarity with common industry platforms (e.g., OSIsoft PI, CygNet, Ignition, AVEVA, AspenTech, etc.). • Strong customer-centric mindset and a consultative sales approach. \#LI-JA1
