Technical Sales Manager, Grain Processing

Ideal location for the role is Leiden (Netherlands) but we will consider other locations within or near our sites in Europe.
 

Under the direction of the Grain Processing Sales Leader, you will manage a combination of existing accounts and new accounts in current market segments. This position involves close cooperation with different functions, including marketing, regulatory, business applications, R&D, legal, and supply chain in support of customers. 

YOUR PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES – SALES MANAGEMENT:

Build relationships within the ethanol and carbohydrate processing customers in the industry

Develop strong relations by understanding the customer business, technical needs and challenges

Achieve a high level of penetration across multiple functions (Procurement, Technology, Commercial, Management) within customer base

Develop and implement Account Plans for Strategic Accounts

Effectively negotiate supply contracts

Manage customer pricing strategically in line with business goals

Resolve customer issues and define unmet needs

Progress business opportunities and achieve revenue budget and growth targets

Develop and keep up to date forecasts on anticipated customer product consumption  

Effectively utilize business and sales tools (i.e. SPO Milestones, Forecasting tool, Salesforce.com, MS Office)

YOUR REQUIREMENTS:

Master's degree in Engineering, Science or a degree with technical acumen

5 years experience in the ethanol, corn processing, agricultural, fermentation, food (starch, wheat, barley), yeast or chemical industry. 3 years minimum experience is required.

Experience working directly with customers in a sales and/or technical background

Customer oriented with excellent ability to develop relationships

Your interpersonal effectiveness to interact with internal and external customers

Ability to interact at multiple levels in customer organizations, including Senior Management

You are self-motivated and proactive

Your ability to work in team setting while managing independent responsibilities

You have excellent written and oral communications skills

Demonstrated track record of success

Fluent in English required. Additional in French is a plus.

Willingness to travel up to 40% of the working time
