Technical Quality Engineer

TRIGO is seeking a full time Technical Quality Engineer in Dubuque, IA. \n

Overall Purpose\n

Assists the customer as the primary liaison between the customer's assembly processes and the customer's reactive supplier quality department. The Technical Quality Engineer (TQE) utilizes a combination of customer assembly specifications and their personal inspection background to maintain the customer's quality expectations accurately, efficiently, and in a professional manner.\n

Direct : Site Manager Indirect : Area Manager\/Director of Operations\n

Responsibilitie\n\nRespond to the customer's assembly line quality problems.\nEstablish short term product containment and\/or request product rework for defective products.\nDocument and report assembly line and non-operational product quality issues.\nInvestigate and report findings of supplier caused non-operational product quality issues generated on the assigned shift to the appropriate supplier, affected quality groups, supply management, and operations groups.\nInvestigates product quality issues in collaboration with customer quality group to determine the scope of the issue and provide data for supplier.\nReport results of containment to applicable groups to assists with their business making decisions\/impact.\nAssist in investigation of root cause, gather and analyze historical data, and assist as needed in the corrective action process to help drive a robust 8D process that will yield no future issues.\nWork with production floor \/ assembly, engineering, supplier logistics, etc. to develop and carry out RCCA plan of action. (half shop floor \/ half office)\nOther duties and\/or responsibilities as assigned.\n\n

JOB SKILLS & COMPETENCIES\n\nDemonstrated ability in reading and interpreting engineering and assembly drawings a must.\nStrong knowledge with GSAS, SAP, and daily SQE tasks.\nComprehension level knowledge and understanding of inspection techniques and the use of the appropriate measuring tools, equipment, and gages.\nHands on Root Cause Corrective Analysis experience needed. (from shop floor to office)\nComprehension level knowledge of industrial equipment assembly processes.\nExperience in organizing quotes, contacting suppliers, etc.\nOperating level proficiency using computer software programs.\nDemonstrated ability in written and verbal communication.\nDemonstrated comfort level in interfacing with various levels of the customer's staff and management while working in a fast paced environment.\nDemonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills.\nPositive and adaptable to workflow changes.\n\n

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE\n\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\n2-year or 4-year technical degree in a related field preferred.\nRoot Cause Corrective Analysis experience needed.\nQuality, Mechanical \/ Manufacturing Engineering experience preferred.\nSAP knowledge preferred.\nMicrosoft Suite and SharePoint knowledge preferred.\n\n

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\n\nThis position may include some supervisory responsibilities.\n\n
