Job Description:

   

We are seeking a talented and motivated Technical Publications Manager to lead a dynamic technical publications team. In this role, you will oversee the preparation, production, and management of technical publications, ensuring the highest standards of quality and collaboration across global time zones. You will manage a team of skilled professionals, fostering a growth mindset and a collaborative work environment, while driving operational excellence.

This position offers a unique opportunity to lead a critical function in the organization, enabling the delivery of high-quality documentation that supports our customers and internal teams. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of managing technical publications, building cross-functional teams, and driving continuous improvement.

The key responsibilities include:

Team Leadership and Collaboration

Manage and mentor a diverse team of technical writers, editors, and designers across multiple time zones.

Build a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability, ensuring alignment with business goals.

Foster a growth mindset within the team by identifying development opportunities and encouraging professional growth.

Technical Documentation Management

Oversee the creation, production, and reproduction of technical publications such as manuals, brochures, forms, and promotional literature.

Ensure publication standards are consistently met across all deliverables.

Manage the coordination of printing and binding activities internally and with external vendors.

Review and approve graphic layouts, camera-ready art, and reproduction copy requests.

Operational and Strategic Oversight

Plan, schedule, assign, and review team activities to meet deadlines and quality standards.

Provide guidance and recommend process improvements to optimize workflows and align with business strategies.

Prepare cost analyses for new programs and manage the publications budget.

Ensure accurate inventory control and storage of printed and digital materials.

Cross-Functional Coordination

Collaborate with other departments to handle production requests, providing expert advice on technical documentation needs.

Work with external vendors to develop printing capabilities and ensure consistent delivery standards.

Qualifications and Experience

Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.  

Experience

Minimum of 8+ years of experience in technical publications or documentation management.

Proven experience managing large teams, including exempt and non-exempt individual contributors.

Demonstrated ability to manage global teams and work effectively across time zones.

Strong project or team management experience, including strategic planning and execution.

Skills

Advanced knowledge of technical documentation processes, tools, and standards.

Exceptional leadership and team-building skills, with an emphasis on collaboration and growth.

Strong organizational and operational management capabilities.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and guide stakeholders.
