Based on a solid legacy, SOTAS at its core is a voice communications solution used by the crews of military vehicles (e.g. armored personnel carriers or battle tanks) during their missions. SOTAS is recognized for its highly reliable operation by our customers around the world, many of whom we at Thales have been serving for decades.
Similar to the integration of telephony systems with networked computing technologies in the commercial markets, SOTAS is now expanding its horizon to support the next generation integrated mission systems, primarily in vehicles.
The Technical Project Manager/ Work package Manager leads the product release team and work preparation team in an Agile flow. These teams consist of EMC-, Test- and Production engineers, who work together for the release of new communication products. This team is in close contact with other engineering teams and supply chain department. External companies enable us in quick prototyping and after a thorough qualification process the design will find its way to our products, often in an international environment. Most projects can be characterized as highly innovative and do have a high technological level.
Your work will cover the full spectrum of activities, from orientation to product realization. A part of your job is fulfilling the role of product owner, who is responsible for:
Represent interest stakeholders and understand their vision. Know the trends and targets and have regular contact with the stakeholders. Manage the product backlog and prioritize. Check the progress and share the planning with the stakeholders. Define the sprints with the development team.
Your scope as Technical Product Manager is owning a full spectrum of our release activities, from system test requirements up to product release. Together with the specialists, you are responsible for translating the HW subsystem test and production requirements to a thread for the execution of the tasks within given time and budget.
