Technical Program Manager
UST is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Technical Program Manager to lead and execute complex technical programs that drive our product and technology initiatives.
About the role
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, exceptional program management skills, and the ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
You will be responsible for delivering IT Services projects to schedule, budget and quality and experience executing projects using Agile methods,have excellent stakeholder relationship management, including external customer facing experience is required.
You must possess the skills to successfully lead and manage the project team and project stakeholders, and have expertise recognized and requested by customers Understand the big-picture, priorities and align the customers and technical staff to meet those objectives
Responsibilities:
Define and document program scope, objectives, and success criteria, ensuring alignment with overall business and technical goals. Develop and maintain comprehensive program roadmaps, including detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation. Proactively identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and best practices within the engineering and product development lifecycle. Drive a culture of continuous improvement, data-driven decision-making, and technical excellence. Lead and manage end-to-end technical project lifecycles, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery of milestones and deliverables. Collaborate closely with engineering, product, design, and other cross-functional teams to define requirements, break down complex problems, and establish technical feasibility. Oversee technical documentation, system requirements, and quality assurance processes. Implement and enforce agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) or other appropriate project management procedures for efficient workflow. Monitor program progress, track key metrics, and generate regular reports for various stakeholders. Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks, dependencies, and challenges throughout the program lifecycle. Develop contingency plans and provide effective solutions to overcome roadblocks. Facilitate conflict resolution and escalate issues to relevant stakeholders when necessary. Stakeholder Management & Communication: Act as the primary point of contact and liaison between technical teams and various stakeholders Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences. Establish effective communication channels and conduct regular meetings to ensure all stakeholders are informed of program status, risks, and changes. Influence cross-functional teams and drive consensus without direct authority. Technical Acumen: Possess a deep understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC), system architecture, and relevant technologies Engage in technical design discussions and challenge assumptions to ensure robust and scalable solutions. Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends to inform strategic decisions.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related technical field. Experience in technical program management, technical project management, or a related role within a fast-paced technology environment. Proven track record of successfully delivering complex, cross-functional technical programs from conception to launch. Strong understanding of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Kanban) and experience with project management tools (e.g., JIRA, Asana, Microsoft Project). Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Experience with [mention specific technologies relevant to the company, e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform, specific programming languages, etc.] is highly desirable. Preferred Qualifications: Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), PgMP (Program Management Professional), or CSM (Certified ScrumMaster). Experience in Banking and Finance Domain Experience with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.Work Location: UK – Leeds/Nottingham
