What You'll Do

Translating Vision to Execution: Bridging the gap between high-level business objectives/product vision and concrete technical execution plans.
Roadmap Contribution: Influencing and aligning on technical roadmaps for strategic programs, often involving multiple product areas or technologies (e.g., API development, AI initiatives, platform migrations).
Requirements Gathering (Technical): Working with product managers and engineering to deeply understand technical requirements, dependencies, and constraints for complex features or systems.
Scoping & Feasibility: Defining program scope, setting realistic goals, and assessing technical feasibility and potential trade-offs.
2. Program Execution & Management:
End-to-End Ownership: Overseeing the entire lifecycle of a program, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and successful launch/adoption.
Cross-Functional Orchestration: Coordinating efforts across various technical teams, product teams, design, and other stakeholders (marketing, sales, legal, etc.).
Dependency Management: Identifying, tracking, and proactively managing interdependencies between different projects and teams within a program.
Risk Management: Identifying potential risks, impediments, and bottlenecks, and developing mitigation strategies to keep the program on track.
Timeline & Resource Management: Developing and managing detailed program schedules, ensuring resources are appropriately allocated, and maintaining quality standards. (While not always directly managing people or budget, TPMs influence these heavily).
Process Improvement: Championing and implementing agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and continuous improvement practices to optimize workflows and efficiency within the program.
3. Communication & Stakeholder Management:
Bridging Technical & Non-Technical: Acting as the crucial liaison between technical teams and non-technical stakeholders (e.g., executive leadership, marketing, sales), translating complex technical information into understandable business context.
Transparent Reporting: Establishing clear communication channels and providing regular, transparent updates on program status, progress, risks, and key decisions to all levels of the organization.
Conflict Resolution & Consensus Building: Facilitating discussions, mediating conflicts, and driving consensus among diverse stakeholders with potentially competing priorities.
Influence Without Authority: Leading and motivating teams to achieve program goals, often without direct reporting lines, relying on strong influence, technical credibility, and collaborative skills.
4. Technical Acumen & Problem Solving:
Technical Depth: Possessing a solid understanding of the underlying technologies, architecture, and technical details of the products/systems involved in the program. This allows for informed decision-offs and effective communication with engineers.
Problem Solver: Proactively identifying technical challenges, debugging issues (often at a high level), and collaborating with engineers to devise effective solutions.
Data-Driven Decisions: Leveraging data (e.g., performance metrics, usage analytics) to inform program decisions, identify areas for optimization, and measure success.

Our Approach to Flexible Work
With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
Pursuant to applicable Fair Chance law, Workday will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
