Technical Program Manager, Physics, Quantum
Minimum qualifications: + Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience. + 5 years of experience in program management. + 5 years of experience working in applied physics, numerical modeling, quantum computing, or related technical fields. Preferred qualifications: + Experience managing dependencies and cross-functional interfaces, anticipate issues and propose solutions, and develop or improve tools or processes. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. As Technical Program Manager for the Quantum AI team, you will support multi-disciplinary quantum computing projects through the entire project lifecycle. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate with cross-functional partners across the organization. The full potential of quantum computing will be unlocked with a large-scale computer capable of complex, error-corrected computations. Google Quantum AI's mission is to build this computer and unlock solutions to classically intractable problems. Our roadmap is focused on advancing the capabilities of quantum computing and enabling meaningful applications. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Learn more about benefits at Google (https://careers.google.com/benefits/) . + Support Quantum AI research teams focused on developing quantum algorithms for classical computing, quantum theory, and quantum device modeling and simulation through planning project requirements and technical roadmaps. + Partner with technical teams to manage project schedule, budget, and partner/vendor management to enable exploratory hardware and software development. + Anticipate issues and propose solutions, manage dependencies and cross-functional interfaces, and identify the need to develop or improve tools or processes. + Document and communicate work plans, timelines, and results to the broader team.
