Technical Program Manager, Lab Carrier Certification
Minimum qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent practical experience. + 2 years of experience in program management. Preferred qualifications: + 4 years of related practical experience in smartphone or wearable device certification or testing areas. + Experience in Carrier Certification Testing, US carrier ATT/TMO/Vzw. + Experience in troubleshooting testing issues. + Understand test requirements and test scheduling, familiar with test equipment used in carrier test: R&D, Keysight and Anritsu. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you’ll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You’ll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers. The Platforms and Devices team encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications), as well as our first party devices and services that combine the best of Google AI, software, and hardware. Teams across this area research, design, and develop new technologies to make our user's interaction with computing faster and more seamless, building innovative experiences for our users around the world. + Manage communication of progress with stakeholders and leadership of various locations. Own and nurture relationships between cross functional teams. + Work with cross teams and senior management regarding material development status, schedule, resource requirements, issues and priorities. Proactively identify and risks, and create plans to resolve. + Experience in different carriers Wireless device certification test plans and collaborate with the certification team members to support the testing activities in the labs. + Estimate work, define milestones and manage resources. Track progress, resolve dependencies, evaluate risks and communicate status to upper management and stakeholders. Ask questions that clarify priorities and drive the team. Develop broad domain and technical knowledge. + Manage communication of technical issues with teams, escalate issues as necessary. Plan, Schedule major/minor project deliverables, triaging and prioritizing testing tasks, getting cross-functional support, escalating as required.
