Technical Program Manager, Google Networking Technology
Minimum qualifications: + Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. + 8 years of experience in program management. + 5 years of experience in network capacity forecasting or planning. Preferred qualifications: + 10 years of experience in managing cross-functional or cross-team projects. + Experience in software architecture, design and development of Scalable and Reliable systems. + Experience in executive-level communication. + Knowledge of Networking in Network Management, Control plane and Software Defined Networking. + Ability to manage without authority and challenge the status quo when necessary, coupled with a firm sense of accountability and a bias for action. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers. Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $183,000-$271,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Learn more about benefits at Google (https://careers.google.com/benefits/) . + Lead the planning framework for a program portfolio, influencing resourcing decisions, planning cadence, and stakeholder engagement; deliver cross-functional projects/programs predictably. + Collaborate with core engineering teams to develop and articulate long-term strategy and short-term plans; create roadmaps; develop pace for software systems and infrastructure; proactively identify and initiate New Product Introductions (NPIs). + Leverage technical judgment to drive project delivery and technology reviews; guide technical proposals through a focus on quantitative analysis; translate findings into actionable plans and recommendations; foster alignment among team members and stakeholders. + Define project/program success criteria; establish measurable milestones; continuously measure, analyze, and optimize project velocity, quality, and efficiency; design and launch new processes; implement process improvements; and facilitate scaling for program teams.
