Job Description

The Atom team builds and maintains Rockwell Automation's internal UI Toolkit, an Angular-based library of atomic front-end components that implements our company-wide Design System. The toolkit provides a foundation for front-end applications across the organization.

The Atom team is part of the broader Design System program, which includes a design team, the toolkit team (yours), and a team supporting adopters. You'll join a team of seven, work hybrid in Prague (three days in-office), and report to Engineering Team Lead Tomas Heveroch.

As a Technical Product Owner, you'll manage the toolkit roadmap and backlog, prioritize feature requests, and work with internal consumers and contributors. Your development experience will help you assess complexity, understand technical challenges, and make informed decisions.

The current team consists of six people: four developers and two testers. It has an assigned scrum master and designer. The team is located in the Rockwell Automation office in Prague, Czech Republic. You will report to the Engineering Team Lead, Digital & Platform Technologies, and you will be eligible for a hybrid schedule ( 3 days from office).

Your Responsibilities:Drive the evolution and improvement of the UI Toolkit from a product capabilities perspectiveOwn and prioritize the team backlog using tools like Jira, Jira Align, JAMA, and ConfluenceParticipate in planning for Program Increments and in team scrum ceremoniesAlign with managers, designers, and development teams to clarify requirements, manage dependencies, and define prioritiesTranslate needs into actionable features, with technical understanding to evaluate feasibility and complexityUsing development background to contribute to technical discussions and planning.Participate in feature scope discussions and help break down technical work.Support toolkit adopters with usage.Conduct final checks to ensure that the code matches the acceptance criteria.Participate in technical spikes to explore solutions and reduce uncertaintyTriage anomalies and help prioritizeContribute to code (reviews, fixes, building, running tests) during critical project stages when additional hands-on support is needed.

The Essentials - You Will Have:University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field4+ years of experience in software development or testing, with front-end or web-based applicationsPrior experience as a Product Owner or in a similar role (Team lead, Tech lead) in software development (even part-time, e.g., half developer, half PO)Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum or SAFe)Fluent in Czech and EnglishUnderstand technical discussions and bridge needs with engineering execution

The Preferred - You Might Also Have:Development experience in Angular, TypeScriptExperience with component libraries and design systemsFamiliarity with CI/CD workflow and GitlabExposure to Jira, Confluence, and JAMAExperience with e2e testing, unit tests, code reviews
